Who we are: Our Crew was officially organized and chartered through Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church (High Point,NC) in January 2011 by our Crew Adviser (Mr. Geno)

We are a diverse Crew of male and female teens -
Some of the Crew are current (or former) boy scouts and girl scouts. A few of the Crew had never camped (without their parents) before they joined us. Some are experienced wilderness campers, some, not so much.
We are home-schoolers, public schoolers (SW Middle, SW HS, Ledford HS, Ragsdale HS, etc..) and private schoolers (Bishop McGuiness HS) to name a few. Our oldest Crew member is currently 17 years old.

Our Crew currently specializes in Watercraft – specifically sailing. Our Crew owns a West-Wight cabin cruiser and also has access to a 19’ Olympic class Lighting and a 420 day sailer.
The Crew is also in the process of acquiring an 18’ Catamaran and will be restoring 3 more Catamarans The Crew recently completed a trip to Hatteras Island.  Next year? - who knows! (a week on Kerr Lake?)

Our leaders also come from many walks of life –
Our Crew Committee Chair (Mrs. Sally) is a 20 + year SW Middle School teacher with a lot of experience with youth.

Our Crew Adviser (Mr. Geno - although we call him "Papa Smurf") has been involved with youth for over a decade ( from Founding Cubmaster of Pack 16, a Scout-leader with Boy scout Troop 26, current youth ministry catechist at IHM, a JMS wrestling coach, RHS bandbooster  treasurer, etc..)

We also have other adults involved ( Ms .Caitlin, Mr. Corky and Capn Al) to help guide us on our path. We are always looking for more adults to help!
Why Venturing?
We have fun, and oh yeah we also learn about life. leadership, decision-making, faith, ethical challenges and the world around us.
